This time there were no more roving gangs of bandits – those who were not part of an organised colony either perished or were forced to become hunter gatherers there simply was nothing left to loot. Most people having grown up in ‘civilised’ society, there were not many left who had the necessary skills to survive.
The African wilderness was once again as wild as it used to be.

What an amazing read! A real page turner, with new and exciting adventures (and dangers) around every corner. Leon Maré is certainly an author which I am following closely, and you must check out his blog! I can’t wait for the next one……..
I love reading books in the Trllogy of Sam Jenkins. Leon Mare is as good as it gets. This is a must read for stories of Africa.
An intriguing story set in the Kruger national park. This was a story which was difficult to put down.
Quite exciting a little far fetched but in line with previous novels by Leon Mare. I enjoyed it.
entertaining even though sasquatches are not part of kruger park...... there are some interesting twists on the story
This is an epic tale from an author with great vision and foresight. Mr Maré paints a dark but not very distant future as a stark warning to human ignorance, some of which we see in the lack of leadership in Africa today. He lights up the gloom however, with critical family values, bushveld adventure, a unique love and understanding of the culture and nature of the Kruger Park, and above all an amazing though realistic and honest imagination.
This is a must read to all naturalists, adventurers and people who care about the world we live in. We can only wish for more Sam Jenkins's in this world.
